After the success of last year’s launch of the micro sized synthesizers, the two Swedish brands are back with a new range of Pocket Operators and an assortment of Cheap Monday products, to amplify the partnership and unique collaboration.
With both brands positioning themselves as accessible and inclusive towards those who have the urge to invent in a creative culture, Cheap Monday and Teenage Engineering introduce the smallest, smoothest and most shockingly well priced synthesizers ever, still delivering premium sound, features and effects.
Retailing at £49, the PO-20 Series will be available from Cheap Monday stores in London Carnaby Street as well as Paris and Copenhagen as of Friday 22 January.
The units will also be available on the brand’s own ecommerce site accessible via a unique microsite launching on the same date.
www.cheapmonday.com/pocketoperators will showcases all 6 PO units, a range of complimentary Cheap Monday denim & collection as well as content created by consumers using the hashtags #CMXTEand #cheapmondaylook via a virtual video-mixing deck.
The partnership between Cheap Monday and Teenage Engineering was born in the autumn of 2013.
The Engineers needed new, protective, lab coats for the staff and so Teenage Engineering’s Creative Director, Jesper Kouthoofd turned to his longtime friend Ann-Sofie Back, Creative Director of Cheap Monday to design and create a unique lab coat and modern day work wear for his team.
Cheap Monday took on the challenge and asked for a favour in return; what began with Teenage Engineering’s need for new lab wear grew into a project where a line of portable synthesizers and matching gear was born in a unique collaboration between the two brands.
